
OSWEGO – Camp Hollis will be alive with the sounds of music and laughter Monday and Tuesday, September 12 and 13, at the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau’s annual Senior Camping program for people 50 years young and older.
This year’s theme is “The Sounds of Music.” Visitors should plan to enjoy nature programs, hikes, arts and crafts, sports, bingo, dancing, a bonfire, guest speakers, sing-a-longs, and great food. Accordionist Paul Riley of Williamstown will perform Monday afternoon.
This summer marks the 21st year that the Oswego County children’s camp on Lake Ontario has hosted a senior camping program. Senior camping begins at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12 and closes at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13. Seniors may sign up for the day or enjoy an overnight camping experience.
Guests have three options this year:
• Monday, Sept. 12, 9 a.m. to Tuesday, Sept. 13, 4 p.m. Accommodations are cabins with electricity, running water, and bathroom facilities, $20 registration fee;
• Monday or Tuesday only, day-time program only, $10 daily fee; or
• Monday only, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., $12.50 registration fee.
