Volunteers gather in Fulton for the 19th annual Canal Clean Sweep

FULTON –

Sponsored by the NYS Canal Corporation, Canal Clean Sweep is an annual statewide event that occurs along New York’s historic canalways and greenways during Earth Day weekend. In 2024, there were 193 Clean Sweep events held throughout the corridor, with nearly 4,000 participants contributing to the removal of an estimated 42,460 gallons of trash.

On Saturday, April 19th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Special Events Committee (SEC), alongside local community groups and volunteers, will host their annual clean-up event, the “Fulton Canal Clean Sweep.” Participants will meet at the Downtown Gazebo at 10:00 a.m.

While volunteers are encouraged to register for the event, registration is not necessary to join. To sign up for the “Fulton Canal Clean Sweep,” please visit the Special Events Committee’s Facebook page or go to https://reg.resport.io/s/step1.jsp?r=4975405511475200.
