More than 230 Hannibal Kenney Middle School students were recognized in the areas of attendance, honor roll and high honor roll for the first quarter.

Fifth and sixth grade and seventh and eighth grade had separate celebrations in the school cafeteria complete with food, decorations and prize drawings to recognize student achievement.
Principal Dee Froio said they had about 100 students when they first started this program, and it continues to soar in growth each year with more and more students asking what they have to do to be a part of it.
“We want to encourage a drive in our students to be a part of something special,” said Principal Froio.
The rest of the quarter celebrations for the year will also include a fourth category of students: those who have raised their grade point average by five points or more.
