Second Chances Furniture and Clothing (www.facebook.com/secondchancesfurnitureandclothing), a part of Bridge to Hope (www.facebook.com/bridgetoohope), and The Desens House (www.desenshouse.org) will team up with The Hometown Barbershop (https://www.facebook.com/people/The-Hometown-Barbershop/) to host their 5th Annual Winter Wear Giveaway. Second Chances will be giving away free winter jackets, coats, sweaters, boots, hats, mittens, gloves, and more. The Desens House will be setting up tents outdoors, with other community partners, serving hot drinks and breakfast snacks, while The Hometown Barbershop will be indoors providing free barber shop haircuts. This event will take place Monday November 3rd from 10 AM to 12 PM at 51 E. Oneida St. Oswego (E. 4th St. Entrance).
Oswego County Opportunities, Farnham Family Services, ACR Health, Elim Grace Church, and other community partners will also be present at the event.
This event is accepting winter clothing donations through October, including coats, jackets, winter vests, snowpants, boots, blankets, scarves, mittens, gloves, hand warmers, and toe warmers. These donations can be dropped off in Oswego at these locations during open hours: The Connection Point, The Hometown Barbershop, Oswego Alliance Church, Elim Grace Church, Second Chances Furniture and Clothing, and Fruit Valley Orchard & Greenhouses.
Second Chances Furniture and Clothing is a free store for those in the community run through the non-profit organization, Bridge to Hope. They offer free furniture, clothing, house items, books, toys, childrens’ items, and more. The store is open Tuesday to Friday from 1-3 PM at 51 E. Oneida St. Oswego and is open to the community. The Desens House is a faith-based, community driven model for recovery that is specifically focused on supporting women struggling with Substance Use Disorder.
