7 Brew Raises $26,777 for Blessings in a Backpack- Oswego Through “Caffeine for a Cause” Campaign

OSWEGO – September 22, 2026 — Thanks to a big turnout and an even bigger heart from the Oswego community, Seven Brew Drive Thru Coffee is donating $26,777 to Blessings in a Backpack of Oswego. The funds were raised during 7 Brew’s recent “Caffeine for a Cause” event to help make sure local kids in the Oswego City School District have food in their home over the weekend.

During the event, 7 Brew offered a specialty drink menu where guests could donate on a pay-what-you-want basis. Thanks to the generosity of local drink lovers, the campaign raised the highest amount in any opening of a NY store.

“At 7 Brew, serving great drinks is only part of what we do—our real focus is staying connected to our neighbors and lifting up our community,” said Justin Ferrara, Director of New Stand Openings. “Teaming up with Blessings in a Backpack means our daily coffee runs can turn into real, meaningful support for local students. We’re so thankful to every guest who stopped by and helped us raise $26,777.”

For many children who rely on school breakfast and lunch during the week, weekends can leave a gap in access to nutritious food. This donation will provide thousands of weekend meal bags filled with easy-to-prepare, kid-friendly food so students can come back to school on Monday rested, nourished, and ready to learn.

“Hunger doesn’t take a break on the weekends, and this incredible support means the world to our local families,” said Missy Russell, Program Coordinator for Blessings in a Backpack- Oswego. “This donation from 7 Brew and their amazing customers directly helps children right here in our city, giving them the nourishment they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.  With the need growing, and costs increasing, this will be a great help toward our $50,000 yearly cost.   Thank you Oswego, for helping to feed hungry bellies, this is incredible!!”
