Fred Kent sends in this week page from the visual history books. Meet the 1959 Hannibal Warrior baseball team. Fred wants you to see these young men so you can pair them up with some of the players in this coming weekend’s Old Timers’ Game on Sunday. He’s also looking for players. Read his news release, below.
The game is part of the weekend’s festivities in the village, which holds its annual Concert in the Park at 3:30 p.m. at the Firemen’s Field on Rochester St.
After the concert, head to the dam on Mill St. for the annual Duck Derby, which benefits Dollars for Scholars.

Sunday is the day for all Hannibal’s former ballplayers to clean out the attic, dust off and oil the old ball glove, and come up to the old Hannibal Town Team ball diamond on Rochester St. in the Village of Hannibal.
Back in the day, Bob Scott organized these oldtimers games to give the Hannibal Alumni the opportunity to enjoy each others company again and to swap tall stories.
This year, in conjunction with the Village’s 150th anniversary, we wanted to bring back this popular event. Steve Cianfarano and Joe Caruana are heading up the event. There is no cost to participants. Equipment will be available for those who can’t locate their own.
Following the game, consider staying awhile to enjoy the music of Jack Beckwith’s new band “Anybody’s Guess” in their first public appearance, and the sounds of the “Lock 52 Band” a brass ensemble. Refreshments will be available during the day.
Following the concert, the Annual Duck Derby takes place at the Memorial Park on Mill St. at the Dam.
This should be a great day that has something for everyone.
