OSWEGO COUNTY – A.A. Cole Elementary School in the Central Square School District recently held its monthly October assembly, celebrating student leadership and character excellence with a friendly game of “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?”
According to a release from the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation, students across grade levels received character awards for demonstrating outstanding leadership and positive choices throughout October. School staff praised the honorees for serving as role models within the school community.
A team of fifth-grade students competed against A.A. Cole teachers in “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” The fifth graders won, and each student on the winning team took home a new NeeDoh toy.
“We are so proud of our student leaders for their hard work and character this month, and seeing our fifth graders take on our teachers in such a fun competition was a fantastic way to bring our school together,” said A.A. Cole Principal Jessica Hill.
