Building on the success of last year’s Academic and Community Enrichment program dinner, teachers and staff members at Fairley Elementary School recently kept that momentum going with an Italian-style meal in the school cafeteria.

More than a dozen students participate in the ACE after-school program, which provides first through third graders with healthy snacks, academic and behavioral supports and community enrichment activities.
To prepare for the dinner, students used their craft skills to make placemats and centerpieces for the table, and they showcased their culinary skills by making appetizers, salads and desserts.
According to school psychologist Geri Seward, the dinner is a reflection of teamwork among the ACE participants, family members and staff volunteers.
“It’s truly a group effort. ACE is made possible through the volunteer efforts of staff members Rhonda Koskowski, Nikki Raycraft, Michelle Long, Lynn Bullard, Telia Tamayo and Meg Welling. Thanks to all the coordinated efforts, this year’s dinner was another success,” she said.
