FULTON – All Saints Episcopal Church of Fulton announces the receipt of a grant from the Richard S. Shineman Foundation to assist the church’s long-running weekly program to feed people in need. The grant of $2,450 helps to purchase food and supplies for All Saints’ Tuesday Night Dinners program, which provides thousands of meals each year.

Each week, church members and volunteers from the Fulton Lions Club cook and package hot meals, which normally include a main course; rice, potatoes or pasta; vegetables; and a dessert. Those meals are provided free of charge to anyone who arrives at the church between 5 and 6 p.m. each Tuesday. The program began in 2008 and recently experienced a surge of community need, with the number of meals being served weekly occasionally rising above 200.

“The cost of food and packaging have risen steadily, putting pressure on our team to bring in enough money to meet what is very obviously a growing and critical need in our community. We are grateful to the Shineman Foundation for this grant. It will keep many people from going to bed hungry. It will give them hope and a reason to keep working towards a better future,” said Lynn Bullard, a member of the church’s Vestry and the founder and coordinator of the weekly meals program.

“We’re inspired by All Saints’ steadfast dedication to meeting a vital need—offering a warm meal and a welcoming place to those who need it most,” said Chena Tucker, Director of the Shineman Foundation. “Supporting the Tuesday Night Dinner program aligns deeply with our mission to address food insecurity across Oswego County. We are grateful for the hands and hearts that serve this community so graciously”.

Donations supply 100% of the money needed to buy food, takeout containers and supplies. Donations can be sent to All Saints Episcopal Church, PO Box 542, Fulton, NY 13069. Please write “Tuesday Night Dinners” in the memo line of the check. Community organizations wanting presentations on the program or offering volunteers can contact Bullard at [email protected].
