Alliance Bank Sponsors the Oswego Y Harborfest Run

The Oswego YMCA’s Harborfest Walk/Run, is a longstanding local tradition celebrating fun and fitness. It is scheduled for Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 8:30am. The Oswego YMCA is pleased to announce the new sponsor of the race will be Alliance Bank.

COURSES: The 10K route is what some would call “undulating.” It travels by the lake and through the State University of Oswego. (Certification #10K NY02030AM) Course is slightly modified to accommodate Utica St Bridge closure-runners will cross at the pedestrian bridge)

The 5K route winds its way around scenic Oswego and through many of the Harborfest sites. (Old Certification #5K NY96013AM – course has been modified to accommodate the Utica St. Bridge closure -runners/walkers will cross at the pedestrian bridge)

Both events will begin at Paul’s Big M, and will include at least three water stops. The finish is at Civic Plaza, where the race culminates with refreshments, awards ceremony, music and entertainment!

This year’s event will be chip timed by Auyer Racing. We ask all race participants to arrive a little early in order to pick up their chips. Chips will only be handed out the day of the event. There will be a $100.00 fee for any unreturned chips.

In-kind sponsors for this event are: C’s Farm Market, U.S.Army Recruiting, Bridge St Bagelry and Sandwich Shop, Eagle Beverage, Oswego Police and Fire Departments, Ham Radio Operators.

Registration is now available up until July 23, 2010. Registration forms are available at the Oswego YMCA, online @ www.oswegoymca.org or www.active.com . Cost is $20 until 7/5/10 or $25 thereafter. We do not offer same day registration. New this year are Breathable Tech tees!

YMCAs are the largest not-for-profit community service organization in the nation. The proceeds from this event will go towards YMCA programs such as summer camps, childcare, teen, senior, and adult programs. We serve people of all faiths, races, ages, abilities and incomes. No one is turned away for the inability to pay.
