American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Class Set

OSWEGO, NY – The Onondaga Oswego Chapter of the American Red Cross is pleased to announce that the ever-popular Babysitter’s Training is now being offered in a new and exciting format.

The Babysitter’s Training is designed for 11 – 15 year olds who want to learn to care for children and infants.

The class teaches participants leadership skills and gives them the confidence to make good decisions when caring for younger children.

Participants learn how to handle emergencies, keep the children and themselves safe as well as safe play techniques.

The class provides guidance on how to talk to potential employers providing tools to use in preparing for a job.

Students receive a handbook packed with information; skill sheets an emergency reference guide and an interactive CD-ROM with activities, songs, recipes, a babysitter client organizer and much more.

As part of the new and improved course participants will have the option of attending an additional half-day session that will cover First Aid and CPR Child and Infant.

This half-day is optional but certainly encouraged.

The next Babysitter’s Training will be held on Nov. 15 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with the optional half-day on Nov. 22 from 8:30 a.m. – noon.

Classes are held at the Oswego Branch office, 333 W. First St.
