OSWEGO COUNTY – Interested in serving your community and helping children? The Oswego County Youth Bureau announced it is now accepting applications to fill two fitness and nutrition education positions through the AmeriCorps Program.
Chosen candidates will be stationed at the Oswego County Legends Fields Complex, 99 Churchill Rd., Oswego. They will work flexible hours Mondays through Thursdays, June 29 to Aug. 13.
In these positions, AmeriCorps members will provide physical education activities and nutrition lessons to children, with a focus on being outside, socializing and learning healthy habits.
The AmeriCorps Program provides members with the opportunity to earn a living allowance and an education award while gaining valuable experience and serving their community. Over the course of the summer, members will work 300 hours, earning a total living allowance of $2,823 and an education award of $1,565.08.
To become an AmeriCorps member, applicants must be aged 17 or older, have a high school diploma or be working towards one, and pass a criminal background check.
