AmeriCorps Members Visit Seneca Hill Manor

OSWEGO, NY – This Valentine’s Day, a group of eight volunteers spent the afternoon crafting cards for the patients on the third floor at Seneca Hill Manor.

Louise Dunnaway and Emily Dufore, local Oswego AmeriCorps members, organized this outreach project.

DuFore’s Jewelers of Oswego donated money for the supplies.

The children and adult volunteers worked together to design and distribute cards to 40 residents.

Volunteers had the opportunity to experience first-hand the impact a simple visit and Valentine card can have on another person.

The appreciation displayed on the residents’ faces as volunteers presented them with their Valentine Day cards was both rewarding and inspiring.

The afternoon ended with cookies and juice graciously supplied by the Seneca Hill Manor.

The Oswego County AmeriCorps Program focuses on services for children and families.
