It was a hot and busy summer at the David C. Webb Memorial Park at Taft Bay in Bernhards Bay.
AmeriCorps members Erain Wilcox and Julie Frank helped make this summer a healthy one for the youth attending the Taft Bay summer parks and recreation program.
Some of the favorite activities the children enjoyed were dancing, sprinkler dodgeball, nutrition challenges, walking club, water games, as well as the many guest speakers and performers.
At the end of the summer, a talent show was presented by the youth with assistance from the AmeriCorps members, park staff, and volunteers from the community.
The admission for the talent show was a school supply to donate to families in A.A. Cole Elementary school.
Erain and Julie would like to thank all of those who volunteered their time or donated supplies to make the summer full of fitness and fun.
The Oswego AmeriCorps program focuses on services for children and families.
Members mentor youth, provide fitness and nutrition education activities for youth, and manage volunteers.
They serve at schools, libraries, recreation programs and human service agencies throughout the county.

“A huge thank to CNY Innovations for helping with and building a stage for the talent show, as well as a thank you to Dance Craze in Brewerton for the wonderful story and dance lessons, and the Oswego county K-9 unit for the K-9 Demonstration,” Erain added.
