FULTON – If you are from Central New York, then you know early summer means the strawberry harvest – and all that goes with it!

Among residents at Michaud Health Services in Fulton, the tradition of cleaning and preparing a batch of freshly picked strawberries is alive and well.
Recently folks gathered one morning to hull, cut and crush 20 quarts of tasty local berries, all destined for the centerpiece of a Strawberry Shortcake Social later that day.
Even though there was a lot of work to prepare the strawberries, the task was made easier by the companionship and camaraderie of the ladies gathered around the central table.
And the anticipation of a delicious treat when done!
