Planning has begun for the 42nd Annual Fulton Memorial Day Salute to be held on Friday May 23 and Saturday, May 24 at the Fulton Community Center. The theme for this year’s event will be “Remember the Fallen – Celebrate Freedom”.
The event will feature the traditional Saturday morning parade, led by this year’s grand marshal, Veteran of the Year Raymond Caprin. Saturday night’s headline musical act will be well-known local band Cold Front. The event will also feature a Saturday night Watch Fire, food vendors, dunk booth, 5K run and rides by Ontario Amusements. The event will be closed out with fireworks on Saturday night.
The Memorial Day Salute Committee is made up of representatives from the Lions, Kiwanis, Rotary and Sunrise Rotary service clubs, along with the Fulton Veterans’ Council. Major sponsors include the City of Fulton and Fulton Savings Bank.
For further information on the event, including how to sign up to be a vendor or enter the parade, visit the Salute’s Facebook page under “Fulton Memorial Day Salute”.
