Camp Hollis Hiring for 2025 Season

Calling All Camp Counselors, Lifeguards and More! –

OSWEGO – Discover an enriching and rewarding summer experience and make a difference in a child’s life! Camp Hollis is still hiring counselors, a lifeguard, and kitchen helpers this summer.

Positions as resident counselors or day camp counselors are available. Counselors work as a team to create programs for elementary and middle school aged students and must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Applicants must be aged 16 or older for day camp counselor positions and aged 17 or older for overnight resident positions. Candidates should have organized camp, recreation or child care experience.

Employment is for an eight-week period. Day camp positions run Monday through Friday from June 23 to Aug. 15, while overnight camp positions are from June 22 to Aug. 15. Employees are paid bi-weekly and pay varies by position.

Overnight camp positions require residency at the camp from Sunday afternoon through Friday afternoon, with room and meals provided by Camp Hollis. These positions include resident counselors, lifeguards and kitchen helpers.

Lifeguards are responsible for teaching swimming skills, planning and leading water games, working as a team member to create programs for elementary and middle school aged children and more. The candidate must be aged 17 or older, and current lifeguarding and CPR certificates and experience in recreation or child care are preferred. Camp Hollis will pay the certification cost for those hired for the lifeguard position.

The kitchen helper performs basic kitchen and cleanup duties, helps to prepare meals for the campers and staff, serves meals and more. This position also provides cabin supervision, ensures that the cabin is clean, and participates in group activities when not in the kitchen. Applicants must be aged 17 or older and have kitchen work and child care experience.
