OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Healthy Miles Coalition and the Rural Health Network of Oswego County have partnered to host a walking event on Saturday, June 1 in celebration of National Trails Day. The walk begins at 10 a.m. at Great Bear Recreational Area, located at the corner of county route 57 and Great Bear Road in the town of Volney, south of Fulton.
Great Bear Recreational Area offers a variety of trails to walk, hike and bike along, including a trail approved by the Oswego County Healthy Miles Coalition. Trails approved by the organization have been verified as accessible for all ages, strengths and capabilities. Participants should note that there are no restrooms on site.
The Oswego County Healthy Miles Coalition is a subcommittee of the Rural Health Network of Oswego County, which operates under Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) and aims to support partnerships and planning that contribute to a healthy and thriving population in Oswego County.
