OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Office for the Aging (OFA) announces updates to its congregate dining site in Central Square. The site will temporarily operate at the American Legion, located at 3301 Fulton Ave, Central Square beginning on Tuesday, March 24.
“Due to the closure of our previous congregate dining site location in Central Square, we’ve had to make some adjustments,” said OFA Director Sara Sunday. “Congregate meals are on pause until we transition to our temporary location at the Central Square American Legion on March 24.
“Rest assured, plans are underway to move the site permanently to the Central Square First Baptist Church,” she added. “While we don’t yet have an opening date, we will update the public as soon as we have that information. We appreciate residents’ understanding and look forward to welcoming our seniors to the new site soon.”
Meals will be offered to seniors at the American Legion on Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every week. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 315-720-9732.
Congregate dining sites give Oswego County seniors the opportunity to socialize with others in their community while enjoying a hot, nutritious meal. There is a total of six OFA dining sites in the county, located in Central Square, Fulton, Mexico, Parish, Phoenix and Pulaski. Meals must be ordered in advance, and those interested should call the dining site to reserve their meal.
