OSWEGO COUNTY – Join the Cleveland Historical Society in welcoming author Jim Farfaglia to discuss the history of the Nestlé Chocolate Factory in Fulton on Sunday, June 8. The presentation begins at 2 p.m. at the North Shore Coffee and Tea Co., 676 NYS Rte. 49, Bernhards Bay, N.Y.
Farfaglia will discuss his book, “Nestlé in Fulton: How Sweet It Was,” as well as the research behind it. It was over 100 years ago that two Swiss companies joined forces to produce classic confections such as the Nestlé Crunch Bar, Toll House Morsels and Nestlé Quik drink mix, giving Fulton the reputation of “the city that smelled like chocolate.”
Over the last several years, Farfaglia has authored many books filled with either poetry or local history. Among his other works are: “Pioneers: The Story of Oswego County’s Search and Rescue Team,” “Voices in the Storm: Stories from the Blizzard of ’66,” “Of the Earth: Stories from Oswego County’s Muck Farms,” “Historic Snowstorms of Central New York,” and “Oswego’s Camp Hollis: Haven by the Lake.”
