Explore Your Career Options Virtually Oct. 8

OSWEGO COUNTY – Oswego County Workforce New York (OCWNY) invites job seekers to participate in a new kind of career exploration – virtual reality (VR)! From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, applicants can experience a variety of different careers using VR headsets. The event takes place at the OCWNY Career Center, 200 N. Second St., Fulton.

“OCWNY is excited to offer this unique opportunity for job seekers,” said Rachel Pierce, director of Oswego County Workforce New York. “The experience allows people to select different career titles and virtually perform the tasks associated with them. It is a true replica of what the job would be like in the real world.”

Attendees can also learn about various free employment and training services offered by OCWNY to help job seekers enhance their career options and workforce skills. These services include resume assistance, online learning and funding options for training.

To sign up for the VR career exploration experience, call OCWNY at 315-591-9000 and reserve a time slot. Space is limited, and those interested must sign up by Tuesday, Oct. 7.
