OSWEGO – Fort Ontario State Historic Site hosts a Civil War Living History Weekend on its grounds at 1 E. Fourth St., Oswego. Activities run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 24 and 25.
The event features living history interpreters; military drills and civilian life demonstrations; field music and female soldiers; a magic lantern show; and talks about women’s fashion, camp cooking, medicine and garrison life. Sutlery (vendors) will also be on hand with items for purchase.
Regular fort admission – $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and students, and free for children aged 12 and under – will be charged for the event.
