OSWEGO – The Holiday History Shoppe returns for your holiday shopping inspiration, starting on Saturday, Nov. 29. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays during the month of December. Find the Shoppe at the Oswego City Downtown Visitor Center, 201 W. First St., Oswego.
Museums and historical societies from around the county will stock the shelves with various items and memorabilia related to the county’s farming, maritime, military, commercial and industrial past. These items not only make great gifts, but the proceeds will benefit those local organizations that preserve and present Oswego County’s rich heritage to residents and visitors alike.
These organizations include the H. Lee White Maritime Museum, Fort Ontario State Historic Site, the Richardson-Bates House Museum, Safe Haven Museum, Mexico Historical Society, Starr Clark Tin Shop and Underground Railroad Museum, and more!
These community partners express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the City of Oswego for providing the space for the Holiday History Shoppe each year.
The Shoppe will also be open during Christmas week on Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Christmas eve from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For more information about the Holiday History Shoppe or to sign up to volunteer, call the H. Lee White Maritime Museum at 315-342-0480 or visit https://hlwmm.org/.
