OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Health Department hosts “Stepping On,” a free seven-week workshop series that teaches fall prevention strategies. Classes are scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. every Wednesday from Sept. 25 through Nov. 6 at the Nick Sterio Public Health Clinic, 70 Bunner St., Oswego.
This workshop is intended for anyone who lives independently and has fallen or has a fear of falling. The program is not meant for those who use a walker indoors or a wheelchair full-time. Each session is led by a trained professional who can help answer questions regarding physical health and well-being.
“Stepping On” is evidence-based and has proven to reduce falls by 31%. Participants will be able to learn tips and exercises to help build up strength and balance in a safe and welcoming environment.
