OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Department of Mobility Management announces the launch of the Caregiver Portal, a new online tool that helps caregivers, family members and support staff stay informed and connected with their care receiver while they use Oswego County public transit.
“We’re pleased to introduce the Caregiver Portal, a new tool designed to make public transportation more accessible and convenient for caregivers and other support networks,” said Oswego County Director of Mobility Management Heather Snow.
“The portal allows approved family members, care coordinators and support agencies to access real-time ride updates, route notifications and secure trip information for those they care for, providing added confidence and peace of mind,” she added. “By simplifying ride management, caregivers can spend less time worrying about logistics and more time caring for the people who depend on them.”
The Caregiver Portal is designed for care providers supporting residents aged 18 and older and helps ensure continued access to essential resources and services for their care receivers.
Like the Ride Oswego County mobile app, the portal allows users to view details on upcoming rides and cancel them if needed. Active rides can be tracked in real-time beginning up to 30 minutes before the trip. Once the care recipient is on board, their caregiver can track their trip until they arrive at their destination.
While users cannot currently use the portal to schedule rides, the county’s Mobility Management Office plans to add a scheduling option in the app’s next update.
Those interested in signing up for the Caregiver Portal should contact the Oswego County Department of Mobility Management at 315-746-4220.
