Oswego County Historians Sponsor Photo Contest

‘EARLY BIRD GETS THE..’ – The Oswego County Municipal Historians Association will sponsor a photo contest this summer. Pictures will be on display in the Heritage Building at the Oswego County Fair from July 3-7 where visitors can vote for their favorite. Pictured is a submission from Gordon Lyons in 2022.

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Municipal Historians Association announces a photo contest to celebrate Oswego County’s rich heritage. Photos will be displayed in the Heritage Building at the Oswego County Fair between Wednesday, July 3 and Sunday, July 7 where fairgoers will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite.

Entries must be submitted to the Oswego County Historian’s Office, 384 East River Rd., Oswego, N.Y., 13126, or emailed to [email protected], by Monday, June 24.

Horizontal and vertical photos will be judged in the following categories:

  • Agriculture
  • Birds and Flowers
  • Historic Ruins and Relics
  • Lighthouses
  • Recreation
  • Scenic
  • Sunsets
  • Wildlife and Pets

Oswego County Historian Debbie Allen will chair the photo contest.

“Our local historians have selected categories that reflect important aspects of Oswego County’s history,” said Allen. “The photos will be available to the historians for their use in displays and publications.”

Individuals may submit up to five photos. Each photo must be accompanied by a completed entry form. Images should be high resolution in .jpg format. Hard copy entries, sized 4×6 and printed on glossy photo paper, may also be submitted. Images will not be returned.
