OSWEGO COUNTY – Have questions about Medicare? The Oswego County Office for the Aging (OFA) offers appointments with insurance counselors at locations around the county during the month of June.
“Medicare can sometimes be confusing to navigate alone, which is why we offer in-person appointments with insurance counselors,” said OFA Director Sara Sunday. “OFA staff can help people understand the basics of Medicare and their coverage options as well as answer any questions they may have.
With OFA office renovations, it has been hard to offer daily confidential appointments in our temporary Oswego space,” added Sunday. “As an option, we have added additional locations around the county to help accommodate people as well as secure confidentiality.”
Representatives will be available on the following dates, times and locations:
- Tuesday, June 4 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the courtroom of the Hannibal Municipal Building, 824 Cayuga St., Hannibal
- Friday, June 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the training room of the Oswego County Health Department, 70 Bunner St., Oswego
- Thursday, June 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the training room of the Oswego County Health Department, 70 Bunner St., Oswego
- Thursday, June 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Town of Parish courtroom, 2938 E. Main St., Parish
The Oswego County OFA also offers monthly “Medicare 101” meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. Sessions are held in-person and virtually on Zoom. The next session is scheduled for Thursday, June 27 in the training room of the Oswego County Health Department, located at 70 Bunner St., Oswego. Virtual attendees will receive a link via email to access the session.
Registration is required for Medicare office hours and “Medicare 101” meetings. To reserve a space in a session, call the OFA at 315-349-3484.
