Oswego County Offers Free Transportation to New York State Fair

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Department of Mobility Management offers free park-n-ride transportation to the New York State Fair again this year! Oswego County Public Transit buses will be available in Fulton, Oswego, Central Square and Phoenix on weekends throughout the run of the fair.

“Once again, Oswego County is able to offer free transportation to the New York State Fair,” said Oswego County Legislator Mary Ellen Chesbro, District 10, chairwoman of the Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee. “Providing reliable transportation on fully accessible buses ensures that everyone can experience the best of what New York State has to offer – including our own residents who are competing at the state level! It’s such an exciting opportunity!”

Oswego County Director of Mobility Management Heather Snow added, “We’re excited to continue offering free transportation to the New York State Fair. With convenient departure and return times, our buses make traveling to the fairgrounds simple and stress-free.”

The Fulton shuttle stop is at the local campus of Cayuga Community College (CCC), 11 River Glen Dr. on Saturdays and Sundays, Aug. 29 and 30, and Sept. 5 and 6. Trips are approximately 45 minutes each way.

• Departure times from CCC are 10 a.m.; noon; 2:25 p.m.; 4:25 p.m.; and 6:25 p.m.
• Return trips leave the NYS Fairgrounds at 11 a.m.; 1 p.m.; 3:25 p.m.; 5:25 p.m.; and 8:10 p.m.

The Oswego shuttle stop is at the SUNY Oswego Romey Field House parking lot, located at West Seneca Street and Sheldon Avenue. The shuttle also runs on Saturdays and Sundays, Aug. 29 and 30, and Sept. 5 and 6. Bus rides are approximately one hour each way.

• Departure times from Romney are 10 a.m.; 12:30 p.m.; 3:25 p.m.; and 5:55 p.m.
• Return trips leave the NYS Fairgrounds at 11:15 a.m.; 1:45 p.m.; 4:40 p.m.; and 7:55 p.m.

On Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 5 and 6 only, an additional shuttle runs from the Central Square Walmart, 3018 East Ave., to the Three Rivers Plaza, 219 Co. Rte. 57, Phoenix, to the NYS Fair. Each trip is about an hour one way.

• Departure times from Central Square are 10 a.m.; 12:10 p.m.; 2:45 p.m.; and 4:55 p.m.
• Departure times from Phoenix are 10:40 a.m.; 12:50 p.m.; 3:25 p.m.; and 5:35 p.m.
• Return trips leave the NYS Fairgrounds at 11:20 a.m.; 1:30 p.m.; 4:05 p.m.; 6:15 p.m.; and 8 p.m.

All passengers taking the Oswego County Public Transit buses to the NYS Fair will be dropped off and picked up in the Pink Lot across State Fair Boulevard from the fairgrounds near the Toyota Coliseum.

Free transportation to the New York State Fair is offered in collaboration with Oswego County Opportunities, Inc. (OCO).

The Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee oversees the Oswego County Department of Mobility Management.
