Police Provide Next Salvation Army Guest Chef Dinner

OSWEGO – The Fraternal Order of Police of Oswego County Lodge #1 will provide the 106th Guest Chef Dinner on Tuesday, September 9, 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., or until the food runs out. They will be serving roast beef with dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, salad, and a roll. Members of the Advisory Board and the police will provide assorted desserts and beverages. The dinner will be at the fully accessible Salvation Army Center for Worship & Service, 73 West 2nd Street, in Oswego. Dinners may be eaten in the dining room or carried out.

The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with over 356,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges. They are committed to improving the working conditions of officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, employee representation. Police officers’ family members may join the FOP Auxiliary and persons wanting to support law enforcement may join the FOP Associates.

The Guest Chef Dinners are organized by the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army of Oswego County and offered to the community to raise funds for fresh-cooked meals and  food pantry services Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., in both Fulton and Oswego, groceries from its food pantries are open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays,  as well as many other services to individuals and families in need throughout Oswego County.

The two remaining Guest Chef Dinners this year will be provided by the Press Box on Tuesday, October 14, and Canale’s Restaurant on Tuesday November 4.
