Lee Ellen Hickey, author of “Girl in the Glass Coffin: The Tonkin Affairs” brings a local legend to life and highlights a horrific event that took place in Oswego County back in 1905. Potentially one of the most heinous crimes to ever have taken place in Scriba, NY,  Lee and her husband Brian recount the details of the murder of 12 year old Cora Sweet and subsequent trial and execution of her murderer, Henry Manzer. Learn how Cora’s death was linked to the legend of the girl in the glass coffin and helped solve the case of a cruel blackmail scheme that tormented the Tonkin family for more than two years. Discover the tragic truth as Lee and Brian Hickey shine the light on the past and share how young Cora’s death shook the entire county to its very core. Her brutal murder left an indelible stain on the fabric of the community and sparked a manhunt led by angry residents willing to impose their own vigilante justice on the killer.
