Serving Veterans Some Bowling Fun!

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Veterans’ Services Agency (VSA) invites veterans and their families to a free evening of bowling on Saturday, June 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lighthouse Lanes, 295 E. Albany St., Oswego.

The event includes two hours of bowling, rental shoes, pizza, wings and beverages. Information will be available about the Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Program and other resources available to veterans.

Those interested in attending must register by Sunday, June 21. Registration can be made by contacting Veterans’ Principal Peer Mentor Ward Bowen at 315-746-2433 or [email protected].

Veterans and their families can also learn more about the Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Program by attending the next open house event on Tuesday, June 23 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Maples Assisted Living Facility, 453 Park St., Fulton. The Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Program was founded in memory of PFC Joseph P. Dwyer, who served as a combat medic for the U.S. Army in Iraq. The national program serves to provide veterans with support for a wide range of challenges that they face regarding their overall well-being and re-integration into civilian life.
