OSWEGO COUNTY – The summer day camp program at Camp Zerbe returns this year, offering seven sessions for children ages 6 to 12. Each camp session runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and registration is $30 per week.
Each weekly session has a unique theme to provide campers with a fun experience and a better understanding of nature.
The seven themes included in this year’s program are as follows:
Week 1: June 30 to July 4 – Holiday Week
Celebrate the magic of the season during “Holiday Week!” This festive camp experience is filled with joy, creativity and traditions from various holidays around the world. All activities highlight the spirit of giving, togetherness and celebration.
Week 2: July 7 to 11 – Carnival Week
Get ready for a week full of excitement, color and joy at “Carnival Week!” This vibrant celebration brings the spirit of the carnival to life with thrilling activities, games and performances designed to engage and entertain campers of all ages.
Week 3: July 14 to 18 – Nature Week
Enjoy outdoor fun and adventure during “Nature Week!” Explore all that Camp Zerbe has to offer by hitting the trails and checking out the rare “kettle-hole” lakes.
Week 4: July 21 to 25 – Sports Week
Gear up for “Sports Week,” a thrilling adventure that celebrates athleticism, teamwork and the joy of play! This week is packed with sports and activities that cater to all skill levels, encouraging everyone to participate and have fun.
Week 5: July 28 to Aug. 1 – Game Show Week
Welcome to “Game Show Week,” where excitement, teamwork and friendly competition come together for an unforgettable experience! This week-long camp offers a fun and engaging environment that promotes creativity, strategy and sportsmanship.
Week 6: Aug. 4 to 8 – Around the World Week
Embark on an exciting adventure during “Around the World Week,” where campers venture on a cultural journey exploring the traditions, languages and cuisines of various countries. Each day, campers will “travel” to a different destination, immersing themselves in the unique customs and lifestyles of that region through interactive activities, crafts and games.
Week 7: Aug. 11 to 15 – Best of Camp Zerbe Week
“Best of Camp Zerbe Week” celebrates everything that makes camp unforgettable! This exciting experience is a curated collection of Camp Zerbe’s most beloved activities, traditions and highlights from past seasons, ensuring that both new and returning campers can enjoy the very best of all that’s offered.

Camp Zerbe is also looking for counselors and a camp director for the summer camp program. Summer camp counselors work at Camp Zerbe through the Oswego AmeriCorps Program, which serves county youth by providing fitness and nutrition education activities during the camp day.
AmeriCorps members receive a living allowance and, upon completion of the program, also receive an educational award that can be used to pay on student loans or finance college, graduate school or vocational training at qualified institutions.
The Oswego County Nature Park at Camp Zerbe is owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego County Youth Bureau. The 540-acre facility is located in Williamstown and includes an interpretive nature center, playground and other amenities, such as a pavilion and a lodge. Groups interested in renting the pavilion or lodge can call the Oswego County Youth Bureau at 315-349-3450 for reservations, which are required.
