The Friends of the Oswego Public Library and the Oswego Bookmobile invite the community to a morning of food and fellowship at the Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on Sunday, April 6. The annual event is hosted again by the Oswego Elks Club, 132 W. Fifth St. and will run from 8 a.m. to noon.
The breakfast will feature all-you-can-eat pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, juice and coffee. Attendees can participate in a raffle featuring a book-themed quilt donated by First United Methodist Church Quilters as the first prize. Other prizes include a $100 lottery board, two $50 gift cards to Man in the Moon Candies and the river’s end bookstore, and an ice cream-themed basket that includes gift cards donated by Price Chopper and Stewart’s Shops.
“Every ticket purchased supports the Friends of the Library’s mission and our efforts to bring free books and STEAM activities to kids,” said Susan McBrearty, president of the Oswego Bookmobile. “We’re thrilled to welcome volunteers from the sorority Phi Sigma Sigma this year, along with offering the addition of a craft activity for kids and debuting our new ‘Blind Date with a Book’ sale.”
Breakfast tickets are $7 for children ages 2 to 8 and $12 for ages 9 and older. Raffle tickets are one for $3, two for $5 or five for $10. Both tickets can be purchased in advance at the Oswego Public Library or from Friends of the Library and Oswego Bookmobile board members. Raffle tickets can also be purchased at Quilt With Passion. Tickets will be available at the door.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Friends of the Oswego Public Library and the Oswego Bookmobile, both of which provide free books and literacy resources to the community.
