Applications Accepted For Head Start Preschool

OSWEGO, NY – On April 1, Head Start Preschool will begin accepting applications for fall 2010.

The program enrolls 3- and 4-year-old children.

Head Start’s primary goal is promoting school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through hands-on experiences.

The program includes meals and snacks, encourages parent involvement, and provides family support.

With centers throughout the county, children living in all school districts of Oswego County may apply for Head Start.

Head Start Preschool is provided at no cost and is available to families with incomes at or below federally set guidelines.

Head Start is the longest running national school-readiness program in the United States.

Since 1999, more than 4,400 children have been students of Head Start Preschool in Oswego County.
