Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Junior-Senior High School business teacher Amy DeJohn was recognized with the Outstanding FBLA Advisor Award by the Business Teachers Association of New York State, according to an October 28, 2026, release from CiTi BOCES.
DeJohn received the honor Friday, October 23, during the association’s annual conference at Hofstra University on Long Island.
The award recognizes her work as an advisor for Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), a student organization focused on developing business and leadership skills.
Several members of the APW community attended the ceremony to celebrate DeJohn’s achievement, including Superintendent Dr. Naomi Ryfun, Board of Education members Brad Tanner and Shawn Clark, and Leah Tanner, a member of APW’s Class of 2026.
DeJohn expressed her appreciation for the support, describing the opportunity to have district representatives and a former student in attendance as especially meaningful, according to the release.
The recognition highlights DeJohn’s dedication to supporting student leadership and business education at APW, the release said.
