Music and art education were in the spotlight during the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Elementary School Spring Festival.

The school was transformed into an art gallery for the occasion, with festival-goers enjoying self-guided tours of the many collections of artwork from students in pre-kindergarten through grade six.
Festival-goers were also invited to join the school’s primary music classes for live music demonstrations.
Primary music teacher Gil Lopez and students in kindergarten through third grade gave guests a glimpse of what music education is all about.
Students sang some of their favorite songs, demonstrated their ability to keep a beat pattern, maintain rhythm, follow a leader, distinguish between loud and soft and high and low, and recognize musical notes.
