The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Middle School music program held their annual Costume Concert on October 31st for family members, friends, fellow students, and faculty members. The event, which combined musical talent with the fun and whimsy of costumes celebrating the Halloween holiday, provided quite a treat for those who attended the packed event. Hundreds of family and friends were treated to a showcase of music from a solo vocal number; to fifth, sixth and select choruses; to piano and guitar pieces; recorder and flute ensembles; and finishing with a combined band finale.
Midway through the event, several members of the faculty including Principal James Heffron broke out in a re-inactment of a Star Wars battle featuring Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Darth Maul, and Emperor Palpatine among others.
The next scheduled concert is the fifth and sixth grade Holiday Concert set for December 6th. The seventh and eighth grade Holiday Concert is scheduled for December 12th. Both concerts will be held in the Middle School gymnasium. For more information, contact the APW Middle School office at 625-5200.
