APW Students Support Drug Free Campaign

Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Middle School students Taylor Matlock, Peyton Nadeau, Mikayla Collins, and Megan Hart captured first place in a bookmark contest sponsored by the APW Operation Snowbelt organization. This district-wide competition at the school district was held in conjunction with a national drug free campaign called Red Ribbon Week and required students, working individually or with a group, to design an anti-drug, anti-alcohol, or drug prevention themed bookmark. The four sixth grade students, pictured above, were selected as the first place winner and are wearing their prize, a drug free t-shirt. Operation Snowbelt is a community-based alcohol and other drug use prevention program focusing on empowering youth, families, schools, and communities to lead drug-free lives. More information about this organization can be found on the APW School District’s website at www.APW.cnyric.org, look for the link under the community tab.
