PARISH, NY – The APW Winter Guard will host its annual ‘Preview of Champions’ winter guard competition on March 9 beginning at 5 p.m. in the gymnasium at the APW Jr./Sr. High School.

Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for senior citizens (age 65+) and for children under 10.
Food will be available for purchase in the cafeteria beginning at 2 p.m.
Doors to the gym open to spectators at 4 p.m.
This year, APW is excited to welcome the Syracuse Brigadiers to the show, which features two APW graduates Morgan Sobotka and Samantha Rogers.
Last year, the APW guard finished its season with a gold medal.
Others guards attending the show include Central Square, Mexico, Phoenix and West Canada Valley to list a few.
To be a guard member is gruelling; it’s pretty much an all-year training – with camps during the summer months and a season which starts the end of september and ends the end of april.
Practice consists of 2-3 nights a week and all-day and night on Saturdays.
It’s a full-time commitment, plus schoolwork.
Fundraising is also a big part of the guard.
