Several dozen children, parents, ARC of Oswego County staff and Oswego Minor Hockey Association members were on hand last Saturday for “Skate and Slide,†a free event cosponsored by ARC of Oswego County and the Oswego Minor Hockey Association.
ARC staff and OMHA volunteers helped guide children, both with and without disabilities, around the ice at the Fort Ontario Ice Rink  whether on skates, boots, or sleds. For some children, this was their first time on an ice rink.
Some even tried their hand at guarding the net with hockey sticks!
ARC of Oswego County is a private not-for-profit that has been providing services to individuals with disabilities and their families since 1955.
