Archives Day in Hannibal on Oct. 22

On Saturday, October 22, the Hannibal Historical Society and Hannibal Town and Village Historian, Lowell Newvine, will host an Archives Day at the Hannibal Community Center on Oswego Street, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Lowell will show his extensive collection of Hannibal pictures and newspaper clippings. He will have Hannibal genealogy records available. The upstairs room will be open for those who wish to see artifacts owned by the Society.

The following Monday, October 24, The Hannibal Historical Society is hosting a trip to the Town of Oswego. Those who wish to car-pool are invited to meet at the Community Center at 6 p.m. to arrive at the Oswego Town Hall in Oswego Center at 6:30 p.m. to meet with George DeMass, Oswego Town Historian. He will be visiting with us about Dr. Mary Walker and her role in the Civil War and about the Society’s commissioning of a statue in her honor.
