MacRae, independent Author and CNY resident launches Cassius: Book of Avenzyre II, the second book in the imaginative Avenzyre series.
Born in a small town in Vermont, MacRae grew up in the country and attended a rural school.
She started telling stories to her toys from a young age, writing her first short story in second grade.
They’ve always been of the fantasy genre, but also about real life: betrayal, suspicion, joy, war, triumph, self-doubt, unicorns and dragons.
She has written several short stories, but novels are her passion.
The Avenzyre series has been in the works for better than 25 years.
With this second book in the series, eight more are written and waiting for revisions.
She currently lives just a short drive from Lake Ontario with her family and pets.
The second Spotlight author is Pluff who lives in Baldwinsville with his wife and two kids.
For more than 40 years Pluff has been a player, coach, and huge fan of basketball.
An educator for more than 20 years, his love of coaching and teaching has taken him on an exciting journey living in Virginia, the Philippines and Thailand.
“The A-Z Basketball Book, What Every Player Needs to Know to Be Great at the Game!” conveys his lifetime of basketball knowledge to teenagers.
He is currently working on his second book, “Great Life 4 Teens, What Every Teen Needs to Know to Succeed in Life,” which will be coming in out early 2018.
Author spotlight is a quarterly event free and open to the public with Q&A and book signing with the author.
The spotlight on authors will be followed by an exhibit opening and reception for Krukowski whose art is featured in the Hotspot through the month of December.
The artwork is from a photographic series that captures decorated Christmas trees.
He has been photographing the series since the late 1980s and has created images throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and the Nordic lands.
Krukowski also photographs interiors of homes and those photographs have been published in many books and magazines.
Krukowski’s work has been exhibited throughout New York State and is included in private collections.
He has ties to Fulton as he would visit his grandparents here in Fulton when he was a youngster and comes full circle with his seven children bringing them to his hometown roots to share his photographs.
