August 2017 Art Parties Scheduled

OSWEGO – Riverside Artisans Cooperative is offering four widely varied Art Parties in August.

Each Art Party will be led by one of the Riverside Artisans accomplished members.

Ranging from creating Mixed Media Collages to a special Children’s Paint Party, each participant will have the opportunity to create their own personal work of art.

August’s offering include:

Fun with Watercolor – August 12, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Instructor Carol Burghart will lead participant through the basics of this amazingly beautiful medium.

Children’s Birdhouse Painting – August 19, 1 to 3 p.m.
Bonnie Sommers will work with young people from 10 to 15 years to paint a birdhouse with unique and colorful decorations.

Paint Party – “For you, Mom” – August 21, 7 to 9 p.m.
Bonnie Sommers will show participants how to create their own versions of her whimsical and sentimental masterpiece.

Mixed Media Collage – August 26 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Sandy Clift will demonstrate how to create a layered artwork with tissue paper and glued accents.

The parties will take place in the Canal Commons Community Room, 191 W. First St.

The cost of the each party is $35 and includes all materials.

Brushes, paints, papers, birdhouses, canvases, aprons and easels will be provided.

Participants need only to bring their own refreshments.

There is a $10 registration fee, with the balance of $25 due at the time of the class.
