On Easter Sunday 1994, Lisa’s only sister, Heidi M. Allen, was abducted from a convenience store in New Haven.

More than 20 years later, Heidi remains missing and Lisa continues to keep her sister’s memory alive through sharing hope, encouragement, inspiration, and her testimony of faith through books, blog, and speaking programs.

The Allen family continues to search for Heidi, with new information recently arising in 2015 in the police investigation. This past September, Lisa’s mother passed away after a sudden and terminal cancer diagnosis.

Lisa, the author of five books, has traveled as far as Texas to share her message of how one can be transformed by the tragedies of life.

‘My theme for the April 16 program will be based on Isaiah 43:2 that says, ‘When you face stormy seas, I will be there with you with endurance and calm; you will not be engulfed in raging rivers. If it seems like you are walking through the fire with flames licking at your limbs, keep going, you will not be burned,'” Lisa said.

The April 16 program is free and presented by Live More Ministries, a Christian outreach program for women offered quarterly at churches throughout the Jefferson County area.

The Ellisburg Methodist Church Women will offer a complimentary breakfast from 9 to 9:45 a.m.

The program with Lisa will run from 10 a.m. to noon.
