Autism Task Force Members Speak At Oswego Sunrise Rotary

OSWEGO, NY – On Sept. 24, Tammy Thompson and Julie Chetney presented a program on the Oswego County Autism Force.

They told members of the Oswego Sunrise Rotary Club that four years ago, a group of parents met to discuss the growing number of children being diagnosed with Autism in Oswego County.

The group was formed to bring parents schools and the medical community together to provide support for families with children diagnosed with Autism in Oswego County.

A need for programs and resources to help parents and educators work with parents and children was identified.

Since 2005 the group has held workshops and launched a web page www.OswegoCountyAutism.org

This year, the group raised $9,000 with its Autism Walk.

Programs are developed to assist children with autism develop social skills.
