CICERO, NY – Plans are underway for a benefit that is being held to offset the cost of medical expenses for 3-year-old Jacob Hadcock of Mexico.

On Sept. 2, the toddler was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia; a “liquid” cancer that started in his bone marrow and spread to his bloodstream.

“His family originally thought he was fighting an infection, but soon learned that he will be battling leukemia for approximately the next three and a half years,” according to a family friend.

All money raised during the benefit will help the Hadcocks cover medical expenses that are not covered by insurance, such as copays and travel expenses.

The event will be held Nov. 16 at the Cicero American Legion, 5575 Legionnaire Drive, behind the Cicero Post Office, from 1 to 6 p.m. It will include a silent auction, the Twin Magicians, food, 50/50 and other raffles, face painting and music.

Tickets are available both in advance sale and at the door for $10; or $5 for children 6-years old and younger. Anyone interested in tickets or making a donation to the event can call 247-5157. missing or outdated ad config
