OSWEGO – On February 24 the program for the Oswego Rotary Club was presented by David Balliette, administrator of Bishop’s Commons since November 2025. He shared his vision for the assisted living community with the club members.
David graduated from St. John Fisher with a management major and has worked in health care for over 25 years where he gained experience in management, human relations and consulting. He hopes to build on the past successes of Bishop’s Commons management and take it to the next level. David has developed a three-year plan to accomplish this.
Much has already been done to move toward this vision to create a better residents’ experience. The meals served are now prepared with fresh ingredients following the “Farm to Table” concept. This is not only healthier, but also less expensive. Plans are in the works to have gardens in which residents can grow vegetables and herbs that can be used in meals. Lighthouse Bistro will be the name of the remodeled dining area.
In addition to improvements in food service, more opportunities for the residents are in the works. They include updating the gym, offering activities such as movie nights and creating opportunities for residents to have day trips. David said his goal is to assure families of residents that their loved ones are having a great experience.
The Oswego Rotary Club meets Tuesdays at noon at Bishop’s Commons. To contact the club email [email protected].
