FULTON, NY – Blessings In A Backpack (BIAB), who are dedicated to ending weekend childhood hunger in the United States, was the featured program at the October Fulton Lions Meeting.
“The Fulton Lions Club has supported Blessings In A Backpack for years,” said David Dingman, club president. “That’s why we are again making a $1,000 donation to them. Our members have dedicated many hours of service to the Fulton chapter that is currently helping 281 students in the Fulton City School District.”
Juli Scott, volunteer and social media coordinator for Fulton BIAB , spoke to the club about the program and explained that it costs $5 per child per weekend to supply them every Friday with a bag filled with kid-friendly, shelf-stable food. This typically includes breakfast items, snacks and entrees placed right into their backpacks. One inf five children in Oswego county experienced food insecurity in 2026, Scott said.
