Blue Ribbon Ride Boosts Child Advocacy Center

 FULTON, NY – Olivia VanSanford, executive director of the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County, announced that the center’s fifth annual Blue Ribbon Ride Against Child Abuse raised more than $4,000 to help support the agency’s efforts to combat and prevent child abuse in Oswego County.

“Despite a rainy start, our Blue Ribbon Ride was very successful event.  Thanks to our many supporters and the more than 40 bikers who participated in the ride, we raised some much needed funds that will allow us to continue to provide services free of charge to victims of child abuse in Oswego County,” said VanSanford.

The CAC is a non-profit organization that works hand-in-hand with local law enforcement, prosecution, child protective services, medical providers, therapy providers, and victim advocacy professionals in Oswego County to protect and serve more than 200 child victims of sexual and physical abuse each year.

“We truly appreciate the support we received from caring businesses such as Wheel-A-Way Motorsports, the members of our volunteer planning committee, the Star Society of Oswego, the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, the City of Fulton Police Department, and the many local volunteer fire departments for assisting us with traffic control and making sure everyone enjoyed a safe ride.  Their concern for the children in this county and their support of our efforts is remarkable. Many free services are provided to the victims that come to the CAC and without the support of the community we would not be able to help these children,” said VanSanford.
