OSWEGO, NY – Mercedes Niess, director of the H. Lee White Marine Museum, and Rich Bush (right), vice president of the Oswego Maritime Foundation, show their appreciation to Robert Raby of Raby’s ACE Home Center for its support of the Historic Maritime District’s 2008 Family Boat Building program.
This year, nine families worked together to build their own family boats.
A variety of vessel designs such as a Dory Lark, Peace Canoe, Kid’s Kayak and Bevin Skiff were made available.
A usable floating boat was the end result.
This program partners with SUNY Oswego’s Technology Department.
